Launching an AI app doesn't have to be complicated or require coding skills. In this video, I share my 7-step process that anyone can follow to go from idea to launched AI app. By focusing on solving your own problems first and using no-code tools, you can get an AI app up and running quickly.

Generating AI App Ideas

The first step is coming up with an idea for your AI app. Don't get stuck trying to think of the perfect world-changing idea. Instead, focus on problems you face in your own work or company that could be automated with AI. Chances are if you have this problem, others do too. Ideas that solve your own issues or automate tasks for your business are great places to start.

Building Your AI App with No Code Tools

You don't need to know how to code to build an AI app. No code tools make AI app development accessible to everyone. Here are some of the most popular options:

  • Bubble: Allows you to build full web apps with a visual editor, including database and API connections. Great for building AI apps end-to-end.
  • Make.com: Lets you visually create backend workflows that can connect to AI APIs. Good for testing out AI app ideas before building interfaces.
  • Airtable: Flexible spreadsheet-database hybrid that integrates with AI APIs. Stores your app's data.
  • FlutterFlow: Build cross-platform mobile apps visually. Can hook up to APIs and external databases.

Focus on creating the simplest version of your core AI workflow first. Don't worry about login systems or extra features yet. Get the AI interaction working, then layer on UI and additional functionality after.

Designing and Testing Your AI App

Design impacts AI app user experience. Keep it simple at first, but plan to incorporate user feedback to refine the UI and features. Thoroughly test your app's AI results and edge cases before launching. Users will quickly abandon apps that produce poor outputs.

Developing an AI App Launch Strategy

Market your AI app through specialized directories like There's an AI for That to drive initial traffic and users. Convert visitors by offering free trial credits so people can experience your app's value. Gate some features behind email signup so you can market to users in the future.

Gathering User Feedback and Iterating

User feedback is crucial for refining your AI app after launch. Embed feedback and rating widgets right in the app interface. Email users to understand their needs and ideas. Continuously improve the AI models and app based on what you learn from real people using it.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

What AI APIs and models work well for building apps?

OpenAI's GPT models, Anthropic's Claude, and Stable Diffusion are popular choices that cover capabilities like text generation, analysis, and image creation. But there are many other AI APIs available covering everything from voice synthesis to content moderation.

How much does it cost to run an AI app?

API and tool costs vary based on usage, but you can often start for free and scale pricing as you grow. No code tools like Bubble have free tiers. AI API costs depend on how many requests you make but are usually a few cents per request. It's very affordable to get started and validate your idea before worrying about cost optimization.

Do I need training data to build an AI app?

If you're using existing AI APIs like GPT-3, then no. Those models are pre-trained on huge datasets. You simply make requests to the API. Some use cases may require fine-tuning on custom data for more tailored results, but it's not needed to build something valuable initially.
