I actually came from an Industrial and Digital design background and did a lot of freelancing. I wanted to move on from freelancing to setting up an agency and saw a gap in the UK market for this new type of design approach. I had some chats with other founders in a similar space and thought it would be great to apply all the skills I learnt to setup Hatchly.
I come from a no-code background (sad face) but there are so many great tools out there now! The best no-code tool I use is Webflow to design the website to generate an attractive grip on potential leads. We also Zapier, ClickUp and Notion which are great for project management and documenting everything!
Webflow is extremely well-priced (£15/pm?), ClickUp (£5/pm), Zapier (£20/pm) and Notion (£5/pm). The main costs were initial salaries but in terms of tools, next to nothing.
Mapping out our entire journey and putting hard deadlines on when things need to be completed by.
Outreaching personally to potential organisations that I think we could add a lot of value to.
Perfecting the process and making sure we know how to scale effectively with no problems.
Figure out what gaps are missing that you need to fill for the business, research what free/no-code software is out there, learn how to use them and tailor to your business.
A sustainable growth and outreach plan with a focus on reducing churn and retaining quality and customers.
I think we will see a rise in high-quality innovative businesses and a much younger generation of successful entrepreneurs.
